FOUR out of 4

The Roos travelled to Caloundra where the Seniors won a nail-biter against their old rivals. For the first three quarters, sloppy disposal led to hurried kicking for goal, and the behinds tally increased dangerously. In a hard-fought last quarter, the fitness level of the younger Roos came to the fore, with Maroochydore kicking 4.3 to 2 behinds, and running out winners by 12 points. Stirto was magnificent in negating any influence Daniel Merrett might have had, and JR played a blinder. The young guns, led by Sam McKenzie, Tyle Williams and Lachie O’Toole, all contributed to a “never say die” attitude. Our Ressies are playing top class football, and completely overwhelmed a Caloundra Panthers side that lacked the same skills level. Quite a few players must be putting considerable pressure on some spots in the Seniors. Very hard to pick a passenger in the side recently as the boys are playing as a team bent on a top finals spot. Better players were Smoothy, Dolley, Kelleher, Puschy and new young gun, Nathan Selleck. The Colts started a great day for the Roos, but gave their many supporters heart failure! Still, that’s the sign of a good side, and a coaching panel that doesn’t panic, winning a close one by less than a kick. On Friday evening the club’s Thirds had a fantastic 98 point victory over Gympie. Every player contributed to a wonderful team victory. Both our Women’s teams had a bye.
