Attention: Maroochydore Roo’s AFC Welcome Players,Coaching and Support Staff, Supporters and the Roo’s Family. A well deserved six weeks off, including a terrific Presentation Night, (Well done to all recipients) a deep breath, a freshen up, a Richmond Premiership and our MAFC AGM finalised and the committee in place for 2018. The whole Club had a terrific 2017. Strong results and great outcomes both on and off the footy field. State AFL Club of the year, Juniors booming, Record numbers, Competitive squads, Grand Finals and Senior Premierships, including the 3rds ( back to back ), Colts and the drought breaking Senior group. The first year for our Ladies in the QWAFL, 6 senior teams and our continued advancement off the field with our administration and governance.

2018 presents new challenges and it is nearly upon us.

We need to again work hard, enjoy the journey, add 15% to our endeavours, and put ourselves into a strong position to challenge, play in and win Finals. Improvement, opportunity and success from within is our priority. With a Premiership winning squad as a nucleus, 46 senior players getting A grade experience in 2017, up to 8 players returning from long term injuries and a quality group coming up from the Colts we will be focussed on improvement, opportunity and success from within. Senior Pre-Xmas training commences Tuesday 5th December here at Fishermans Road, kicking off at 6pm. A light run and kick followed by a burger and drink. Six (6) sessions ( 5,7,12,14,19,21st ) prior to Xmas to blow out the cobwebs and set a base for 2018. Running/body weights/boxing and a strong games component. We will be competitive in all that we do. NOTE: Pre-season Running/Conditioning program ( 3 months ) will be sent to all Senior and aspiring senior players on Nov 10th. All Senior squad, Colts and new ( and old ) players are more than welcome. Please drop a note if playing in 2018, but committed ( we understand ) elsewhere prior to Xmas and in the New Year. Xmas breakup is on the 21st December, after training, pie night. All Club welcome and expected. 2018 Pre season Commences 16th January 2018.
